Re: Comet Tales

< Another point, even from space, if the tail of a comet is actually made up of matter moving away from it, why isn't there a shadow of the comet on the tail?

Ever see your shadow when you walk into a thick heavy fog totaly surrounding you?

I say again, the only explanation is an optical illusion caused by the Ice cloud co-orbing the sun with the comet.

False sensory perception is an illusion, an optical illusion is a false perception from our eyes and brain working together. Basically optical illusions require background and foreground images to create an illusion. An example is the Harvest Moon, when just above the horizon the Moon looks huge, but we know that it is really not that big. To prove that you can turn around, bend over and look between your legs (upside down) at the Moon and it will smaller because we are looking at the Earth's landscape (foreground) differently or what we accustomed to. Another way to prove the Moon is not so big at that time is to take a picture of it with a camera and the camera will frame the object as it really is.

Now, forget your fog cyrstal/light here on Earth theory for one moment and explain to me how an optical illusion of a comets tail in space of a photograph from SOHO can occur. There is nothing optical illusional about it, maybe an unknown pneumonia we don't fully understand at best.
