America is based upon economics
We can be nibbled to death. More damage was caused to the U.S. by the reaction to 9/11 than the actual physical destruction of the World Trade buildings. Our enemies understand this. Blow up a major bridge and the stock market dumps a 1000 points. Wait two months then poison a water supply and the unemployment rate goes up 1.5%. Wait another month, release VX in a major city and then there's a run on the banks. It's just a matter of prepositioning the terrorists with the appropriate weapons along with proper timing. This is a war to the death with a suicidal enemy that is almost invisible.
