Right now we are holding all the cards. Our enemies are weak, but in time they will gain the weapons to directly threaten us and our civilization. If we wait, as you and others suggest, then we will be put in a no win situation. Another MAD standoff will be the result, but this time against an enemy with no fear of destruction. The fanaticism of their belief in martyrdom will make dealing with them in a rational way impossible. So what if the whole world is destroyed by nuclear fire, they'll be with Allah and their 72 celestial whores for all eternity. These people are without reason, and their belief system crosses the border of insanity. We should strike now, while the only blood to be spilt is theirs. Islam is a primitive perverse blood cult that must be extinguished. It is every bit as evil and dangerous as Communism or Nazism. The crescent should be vilified in the same way as the swastika or hammer and sickle.
