Perhaps expecting people to shut up and behave is what they expected in Nazi Germany, Dan, but not in this country. If you recall, it was George Bush who claimed that the "major hostilities" were over. Reminding him of the fact that this isn't true isn't exactly being unpatriotic.
What has fed and comforted our enemies more than anything is the loss of American prestige and credibility all over the world because our President fabricated a falacious case for going to war and then act unilaterally to conduct a per-emptive war that has resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens - most of whom just happen to be Muslim as well. What comforts them further is knowing that we have stretched our resources so thinly in pursuit of a conflict completely unnecessary and irrelevent to the war on terrorism. We've digressed from our main cause and are now paying the price.
It is my right and responsibility as an American citizen to point out the consequences of this incredible failure in judgement...a failure which persists in our completely muddled effort at rebuilding Iraq.
Perhaps you would prefer that American citizens stick their heads in the sand, but I don't and won't.
