. . . and the road we currently see is a long, rough, twisting trail, pocked with mines, and hides a rabid (I did mean to choose that word) killer behind every tree.
Tactically speaking, though, we are in a good place right now. We know who the enemy is. We know where the enemy is. ...And this known enemy is physically "attacking" our best soldiers. They're also dying and being captured by the hundreds.
Yes, they are sneaky, and more troops are needed, but if France doesn't drop the "Iraq turnover in 30 days or else" attitude and just get real for a day or so, we'll never see them. We'll also miss out on the opportunity to open corridors to Syria, Iran and -- dare I say it? -- the notorious Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We might also lose the chance to knock a few heads together between India and Pakistan.
If everything -- or just most of everything -- goes right, though, we could literally clean house, and scare the royal bejesus out of our deadliest enemy to date.
Not really a big "if", unless America is taught to fight victory,
Dan

A PERSNAL OPINION:
Don is not a villain. He just seems to be fighting for the wrong victory.
