re: Leaving aside the Hitler comparison...

Number One: none of these people are American citizens. While a lot of people are doing there damnedest to try and obliterate that distinction in people, it still counts for something. Theoretically, they do not have any constitutional protections at all, save what we choose to give them. That includes all the traditional privileges granted to citizens under the constitution. This may not be a moral distinction, and you could make a case on that basis, but it is certainly a legal one. In other words, these detainees are probably being treated better than they have to be under the law.

Number Two: Obviously, all the incidents you link to are matters of public record, and many are being investigated through proper channels. If America was as bad as some people think it is, you would never have heard or read any of this at all, and certainly the Department of Justice would not be holding investigations and documenting them on the internet.

Number Three: Nothing that you point out, however valid, warrants comparisons with the Third Reich, which was the original point, regardless of "leaving it aside."
