We really don't have to climb into the pigpen with the people throwing the mud.
It's harder work, but more effective, to stand outside with a fire hose.
I've been guilty of this too, just lashing out, because I let the fire rush to my head. I truly don't have the time to do the kind of research it takes to aim the hose effectively. I can see the goal in the distance and I can almost touch it. The frustration just infuriates me. But I've been falling asleep sitting up with my coat still on enough as it is, so I can't really take the time to do this well.
The lessons of history are important to apply, but there are less contoversial ways of doing so. [kidding] Maybe we could use General Franco instead? [/kidding] The Hitler thing is creating much more heat than light, and even more smoke, which the opposition is using to its advantage. Friendly advice: Cut the loss and walk away.
