Though not an extreme one so far. Nationalists appeal to a people saying they are better than everyone else, and wrap themselves in the flag. Hitler and Mussolini did it with their theories of racial superiority for Aryans and that others were inferior and could be killed for the benefit of the master race.

Milosevich did the same thing. I had Bosnian friends and they told me Milosevich was popular because he appealed to the vanity of the Serbs, saying they were a superior race who were wronged by the Muslims from many centuries ago. The English had it with many of their kings. Franco was another example.

Bush plays the same card with the anti American and patriotism themes. It usually works pretty well, because people like to hear compliments about themselves and bad things about other races.

National socialism isn't necessarily a bad thing because Hitler practised some of it. The Bush familly supported it as most people know, to the point of having some of their assets seized.
The main thing about national socialism is it is a form of socialism but where the state helps the rich and corporations instead of the poor.

So everything you would see left wing socialism do for poor people national socialism does for rich people. If you see affirmative action for poor people you see legacy admissions for rich people. If you see poor people need welfare handouts in left wing socialism, in national socialism (or fascism according to what Mussolini called it) you see welfare handouts, bailouts, grants, loans, etc to corporations.

In left wing socialism there's a push for lower taxes on the poor, in right wing socialism it's lower taxes on the rich. On the left if human rights are threatened there may be military intervention in some countries. On the right the military may help to prop up the rich there.

Both philosophies are about using the coercion of the government to favour a group of people. Libertarians naturally are against both kinds of socialism.

That's why the budget is out of control because the socialists are running things. Take out all the pork to corporations and the budget would be in much better shape. Put the taxes back to where they were under Clinton and the budget would probably balance itself.
