Good Gawd, Lindy

That is just so completely outside the realm of the reasonable. Even comparisons between Saddam and Hitler (which I admit I've done) are stretching things a bit.

Hitler was the monster of the 20th century. Stalin had to sprint to keep up with the atrocities. Hitler murdered millions upon millions of people, started a war which claimed some 50 million lives, gave genocide an institutional cover. For decades now, President after President in this country has left a huge nuclear arsenal unused. Can you imagine what Hitler may have done if he'd commanded a similarly destructive force? On that point alone, can you not perceive a world of difference?

When the Nazis overran another country, they did not turn around and earmark tens of billions of dollars for reconstruction of the infrastructure and the rehabilitation of a society which had been forced into dysfuntion long before they arrived on the scene. They most certainly didn't routinely put their own soldiers in harm's way in order to minimize danger to enemy non-combatants. They didn't seek to impliment democracy, and grant long-unknown freedoms to the citizens.

No, Bush is not a saviour. He's just the President.
