Armchair patriots can get so upset about this...."Why this type of reporting is fallacious, dangerous. Even if we are flushing Korans down toilets and it's causing riots....why should the press have free rein?"
My, my. I just can't wrap my brain why this has become such a big issue. And now Rumsfeld is cracking down on anyone who speaks out?
QUOTE:
>"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice
of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of
increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to
all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear."
~~~~~~~~Harry S. Truman
I haven't weighed in on this because I find it offensive. What if the muslims were flushing the Bible down toilets? Is THAT worth getting upset about? Desecrating a Holy Book when the perpetrators don't EVEN LISTEN TO THE WORD WRITTEN in both of them?
"Thou shalt not kill".
Bombs, tanks, machine guns, torture....all them's okay.
Just keep the books out of the toilet............
What a joke.
- Facts: Like Newsweek saying US troops burned the Koren (Qur'an) when they did not, which results in Afgan violence.
- LOL Now book burning is up there with death, torture and rape?
- Wow, REB. Get the facts straight- it was about flushing the Koran/Qua'ran/Qur'an in a john (plus, I love the Irony)
- Yes, Newsweek falsely claimed American troops had flushed the Koran down the toilet. I was thinking burned. You got me there you.
- correction
- Whatever. They caused violence in Afghanistan based on untruiths.
