Davin, they trust us even less than they did before, thanks to Newsweek. This should piss you off.
REB, there is a LOT that pisses me off about the state of world affairs. Newsweek getting burned by a reliable source and retreacting is the LEAST of my worries.
You can't say 'Newsweek screwed up because they were wrong'. Journalistic organizations are fallible by nature. They are 'screwing up' only if they don't go through some procedure to check the veracity of their sources. It appears (at least if they are telling the truth about it) that they checked their source twice before publication.
If you can show that they fell short of Due Diligence, then make a case. Your original claim, recall, was that they made something up. Its apparent that they didn't, and that their original souce screwed them. If YOU want to blame someone, then blame that person and insist that the DOD/Pentegon find him and punish him and stick him in some dungeon somewhere.
If you want a 'pissed off' from me ion this, then there you go. I'm pissed off that someone who should have known better lied.

- Facts: Like Newsweek saying US troops burned the Koren (Qur'an) when they did not, which results in Afgan violence.
- LOL Now book burning is up there with death, torture and rape?
- Wow, REB. Get the facts straight- it was about flushing the Koran/Qua'ran/Qur'an in a john (plus, I love the Irony)
- Yes, Newsweek falsely claimed American troops had flushed the Koran down the toilet. I was thinking burned. You got me there you.
- correction
- Whatever. They caused violence in Afghanistan based on untruiths.
