I had the pleasure of working for a few months with a man from Iran, who had come to the States to get a technical degree, married another exchange student (from Europe) and stayed. He referred to himself as "Persian", and implied to me the same widespread resentment of Arab Muslim invaders (and coerced conversion of his ancestors) as our current visitor.
