"Hate doesn't kill people, people kill people"
Hate doesn't kill people, people kill people
Yep, they just harnessed that inner love and went on a killing spree! Saddam, Hitler, Genghis Khan...Idi Amin..et al., all just dealing with the full range of human emotions! LOL!
Hate is the ultimate killer of people. What's worse is hate destroys those that survive as well. Look anywhere in the world where violence erupts and what do we find behind it? Hate. Hatred of another's religion, hatred of race, hatred of ideology.
Mao hated western capitalism and decadence and purged millions. Sure he hated an idea - and as a result millions died who would otherwise have lived.
Hate is human, but hate is lower-human evolution not higher-human evolution. Hate is the byproduct of ignorance in every instance. So folks with more hate are simply more ignorant. They can't see things in a broader perspective and this manifests as many and varied hates.
Defending hatred as a useful tool is burying yourself into a hole and throwing away the shovel. If you truly believe it, which I don't believe for a second, Lee has more in common with the liberals here than he knows!
Humanity will never eliminate hate entirely, but it will diminsh it with wisdom so that it has almost no chance to bloom and grow. Hate is the fire and wisdom is the extinguisher that must be apllied to the burning flames of hate that will erupt in every century and in every place where humans learn and interact.
Hate per se, like all emotions, is neutral. It's how you harness it that counts.
Hate is NOT neutral. Hate is viewing things with a negative bias. Love is viewing things with a positive bias. Not caring for a thing one way or the other is neutral.
Hate shouldn't be harnessed - it needs to be addressed. Hatred needs to be dealt with and like a fire in one's home needs to be put out quickly before it destroys one's home and burns down the whole block.
Applying wisdom, information and perspective to hatred is the way one puts out the fire.
Hate & Love are two sides of consciousness. When we love something we are drawn to it and view everything about it as positive. Those things that are opposed to the object of are love are viewed in a negative light, often to the point where we hate these things.
Once we realize that diversity in all things is beneficial, we no longer work to make our world, our country or our home solely a mirror impression of that which we love. Why?
Balance. It's that balance thing again. If you love one author and only read that one author, never read any other books except by that author, that is manifesting as an imbalance. It eventually stifles growth.
Diversity in thought and ideology is GOOD. It provides interaction that keeps a society and humanity evolving and coming up with new and hopefully better structures.
Hate of ANYTHING shows one does not understand this fundamental balancing process of energy which promotes growth. One can't HATE the hurricane - when one knows it will spur a world of good one has yet to realize.
Even Hate....one can't "hate" hate. Hate simply lingers on in those who don't see the good yet. If you hate anything - you are seeing it out of its complete context.
I know it's hard to accept and think out. It seems "right" to hate some things. But at a certain point one realizes that "hate" only happens when one has a "glass half empty" view of something. The universe doesn't work that way. The glass is never just half full or half empty...it is always both.
