a tutorial for an informed life. IE, the point Robert is trying to make and you are blindly dancing around without noticing is there

Hate is a temporary biochemical brain state. Like all emotion its ultimate truth is in its passing and that it does pass. A wise human ascribes the proper moral place to emotion- specifically next to none. A healthy human feels the feeling and is grateful for it, and does not judge it, and does not, like a cargo cult, give it more place then it should hold. Emotion is a medium, not the message of consciosness.

What matters, morally and ethically, is choice and action. What matters is not the state, but the transition. The verb is the thing, to butcher the poet. These things have moral and ethical import. Its these things that matter.

To try to criticize the feeling is like trying to criticize the shine of the sun. It simply is what it is, and it is beyond who and what we ultimately are:

the rational animal, who feels deeply.

The ultimate point which you miss is that trying to define a moral hierarchy to emotion is like trying to define a moral hierarchy to the planets- foolish and ignorant. In the end, they are the same things- natural phenomenon, things of beauty to be experienced, things of wonder to be investigated.

Hideous things are done for love, and for hate, and for fear, and for anger and for ....

In the end, its not the emotional state that they were done for, but what was done that matters in the moral and ethical sense.
