Maybe if I explain it this way, the long form:
RL's post had some things in it that made me nervous, so I posted back as moderator to please stop. I didn't move his post at first.
Lee's post (the one I left at Off-Topic) that RL responded to contained some thoughts that I couldn't exactly leave unchallenged, so I posted back to him as myself, and was a little hot with him. So I really didn't feel right about moving RL's post at the time, and also because Daniel had posted back at him in a similar backhanded "hey, ease up" style.
You posted to RL concerning RL's reading ability in your subject line, so now he's posting personal insults and so are you -- in your subject line -- so I referred you to my response to him, which is the link in my "Hello" post to you. Note that the content of your post was specifically mentioned as not the issue. I wanted to redirect the discussion to focus on what people say rather than their personal characteristics without relocating anything to Flame.
Alas, in vain.
Bowser observed, snidely but correctly, that RL received a smack on the nose but no trip to the doghouse. Frank and Tech agreed. With a consensus like that, compounded by the fact that I had acknowledged the problem earlier, I had no choice but to move things.
Incidently, I hope that Bowser takes great comfort in the fact that the move has resulted in Lee suddenly claiming that he "won" and using this "win" to declare that racism is a realistic and forward-looking philosophy. Ah, the Law of Unintended Consequences strikes again!
Your post was moved with the entire subthread so that it would keep the integrity of its meaning within the thread of conversation. That's the long and the short of it. Mostly, at this point, the long of it.
I told you to shut up because I was sick and tired of reading and rereading stuff that made me mad so I could move it accurately, and then to be critiqued by someone for doing so. I had had enough. I still have had enough, but since you were big enough to admit you might have misunderstood my purpose, the least I owe you is a complete explanation of what happened.
If you or anyone else wants a more detailed explanation of any part of this whole stupid thing, please be advised that I will be out until sometime after 8:30 Eastern Time. I'll be happy, in a public servant kind of way, to answer you then, but until that time, this place doesn't exist in my universe.
