re: I see hate as half an equation
Even though this is Flame and I was tempted to respond with the alliterative subject line "and you have half a brain", I was able to master that impulse. That's an example of the mastery of emotion, rather than its suppression. I don't pretend I didn't have the impulse, I merely chose to not act upon it.
To be perfectly honest with you, I didn't find a lot of meaning in all those words. Yes, there are balances in life, yes new civlizations arise from the ashes of the old, yes I suppose one could assign numerical values and polarities to various emotions, yes, yes, yes. But what does that have to do with the essential observation that civilized people master their emotions and aren't slaves to them?
