Interesting that you're quoting actual historians on your account of the life of Mohammed but there are really no historical accounts of Jesus other than the religious texts describing his life. The texts that describe him as a man of peace were written years after his supposed life and yet you have this absolute assurance of the ethical qualities he possessed.

The true historians of the time - the Romans - had nothing to say about the man. They don't document his birth, his death, or his trial. There is simply no historical record at all except from the hand of the religon's founders and the editing of the Catholic Church who would've had ample reasons to embellish the tales or even make them up completely. I have mixed emotions on whether Jesus actually existed. If he did, I would imagine that the Biblical accounts were a bit distorted as to the man he truly was.

SDAI, I think Mary Anne is nailing it when she pins a Christian bias on your posts for if you were a true fly on the wall in this debate, you couldn't make assumptions about the traits of Jesus based on the books of the Bible. In comparing those fables with the actual historic account of Mohammed's life from varied sources, you're comparing apples and oranges. I won't dispute that Mohammed was possibly a madman. Much of the world was mad at that time and I really don't have firsthand knowledge of the accounts of his life.

To somehow pass judgement on who was the more peaceful of the two is a bit of a reach though and seems a bit immaterial to the overall debate.
