Oddly enough Tom

Most aboriginal peoples south of about central Mexico (MOL) dislike the term "Native American".

I recall reading a comment from one of the tribal elders from S America saying why, by it slips my mind right now.

It is often speculated how the cultures and social structures on this continent would have developed had there been no invasion by Europeans. Sadly it is simply speculation, we'll never know. Water past the rock, nice to have an idle conversation about, But no more than that.

When we gather, we call ourselves "Indians", with the notable exception of the few who are just a little more militant than the majority. Yeah, we got em too.
