You don't want to know.

My school was the last Bastion of conservatives in the ever-more-liberal state of California. About 82% of the town voted Republican in 1970.

All my teachers loved Nixon and we wrote him fawning letters about what a good President he was and what a horse's rear Johnson was.

;-)

Most weren't really career teachers and moved on to other professions within a year or two and teaching was the stand-by work between jobs.

That made a BIG difference. They stressed the 3 Rs and we had all the progressive textbooks to help balance the overwhleming conservative nature of the schools. By the time I was out of elementary school I moved and was exposed to the hard push of the leftist teaching brigades who tried to turn my politics towards socialism, progressive, leftist, UN-centric thinking. "Model United Nations" type claptrap.

Being bright in school will lead one to these advanced courses in the humanities and arts that have an undeniable leftist slant. Nothing cements a conservative view as already being ostracized and discriminated against leftist teachers in class.

Watching some succumb who were not immunized against such was painful. Lifelong leftists already put into form by the cookie-cutter molds of our high schools.

I don't hate teachers. I only dislike the politics and agendas of the majority of career teachers. I already explained about the broad brush below. A good teacher will tell you they don't teach - that they merely awaken the student to the fact that they have to educate themselves.
