I doubt that terrorists would stop using a particular tactic, like beheading, just because one leader was killed.

I’m not so sure, I think that is why Iraqi’s gave up his location. Remember the school bus children massacre and a dozen or so locals were beheaded near the safe house that blew-up. I think they are tired of the innocent beheading.

Hard to say whether another spokesman would emerge. Probably, eventually...the next videotape will answer that one.

An Egyptian born Abu al Masri with military experience is said to be next in line and you can bet al Sadr will have his hand in it a lot more.

Fewer suicide bombers...that's another one I don't know enough to answer. It all depends on whether Zarqawi played a major role in foreign recruitment. Like the PR role, I'd expect that the vacuum would be filled pretty quickly, if so.

Zarqawi was major PR, very instrumental in recruitment, said to be full of charisma, a general in Iraq the likes in popularity of Patton. He tired to overthrow Jordan and was an instant Robin Hood rebel among the poor. His family still thinks highly of his actions fighting the US and you can bet they aren’t alone. Besides all that, everybody is already calling him a martyr and for that you need lots of popularity. We will have to see if someone can replace the recruitment of Zarqawi.

It's important to grasp the situation as it is, rather than through a partisan filter, because if AQ has adapted to our strategy, then we'd better adapt ourselves.

AQ has adapted to our strategy long ago in name of the lack of commitment to stay in the war for the duration. Both bin Laden and Zarqawi have played the democrats whining of the war. It’s about time the democrats better adapt, forget the politics and get on with winning because the fighting will go on.
