re: Agree

Hastert has changed his story 5 times in the last week.
Scott has changed his story 5 times in this thread alone.

In science, they call it 'curve fitting'. Its good to know we have empiricists both here at the zone, and in power in our nation.

Eventually they'll find something that sounds plausible, it wont be easily rejected, and that will go down as the story all along.
Once this is taken as fact, Tom will accuse all liberals (some present company excepted) of keeping the story going, flinging mud at every chance, while nothing stuck.

Don't forget the 'wrong side of history' thing. And 'Just what do you think Gore have done if he were president? '

An obscure blogger will be produced who floated a trial balloon on Day 1, as total absolute proof that this was exactly the way it went down and that the story has not changed.

Actually, I think this is happening as we speak.

All in all, it was the media's fault, Clinton's fault (both Hill and Bill), Kennedy's fault, another sign of the liberal delining-moral-standards-induced apocalypse, and let's not forget the biggest one - the so-called "kids" fault.

The kids fault thing is already done.

Look- i'd like to have more confidence in the right wing, both here in this zone and at large in america- but the attempts to spin this are

• Already manifest in the media
• Already using the established pattern we have seen time and time again
• Already having effect, as witnessed by the reactions floated in this thread
• Already proceeding in the same pattern as witnessed with previous scandals, the information about Iraq and what was known in its aftermath and with other contentious issues such as katrina

My belief is, like yours, is that it will probably work. My hope is that with this, they will have gone too far, and that the mechanism and method will be revealed and destroyed in its effectiveness. But I'm just an eternal optimist.

Then we'll invade Iran, or a rehab center in Florida, I forget which.
