It's a shame that you, who haven't engaged in this kind of vituperative rhetoric against the opposition that I remember, should feel this so keenly, but I'm not surprised that you do.
Bowser is acting as an agent of karma here -- "what comes around, goes around" -- which is not a lovable role, but one he relishes, if past behavior is any measure. Perhaps those of us on the liberal side can resist playing this role for the long haul, even though it feels so good in the short run. Our strength, historically, has been to define ourselves by what we want to improve and where we want to go, not by who our enemies are and what we fear. And, as you have pointed out, we have all taken our turns at the wallow.
