The Democrats support equal protection under the law for people who have been descriminated against based on race, gender, creed (yes -- as much as the Christian fundamentalists want to make it look otherwise), and sexual orientation.
The Democrats support getting power back by any means necessary, and will push any minority under the bus to do so.
Your noble Democrats and their shock troops in the blogosphere are going to be spending the next week or two "outing" Republican gays in Congress and their staffs, hoping to destroy the Republican base vote. Kerry tried this with Cheney's daughter, and the media tried the same rotten gag by "exposing" Allen as a "Jew."
It doesn't work because it's based on a cartoon view of Republicans that isn't accurate.
I could list the many foul things written about black Republicans by Democrats, including caricatures and statements that would get a white Republican flayed alive, but that's another subject.
You and others here continue to overlook the timing of the Foley incident, which took place in the one short time window where the ballots in Florida couldn't be changed. That was not a coincidence, and the intent was to deliver a seat in a Republican district to the Democrats by forcibly removing the Republican from the ballot. You might have noticed a lot of this kind of thing lately.
