Who made this war unwinnable*?

Do you think it is winnable? How? (Per Mr. T. Brosz rules of debate, please be specific)

(*bonus hint, it wasn't the soldiers or the liberals or the media or the lefty bloggers or the anti-war marchers. Hope that narrows it down.)
