Tom, THINK!

We don't lose. We fall back, regroup, hit them again later when and where we can win. And if that fails, we pull back and try it again until we do win. Did we lose after Chosen Reservoir?, Arnhem? Dunkirk?, Dieppe? No, we retreated because we were beaten but we didn't throw it all away for the pride of victory, or the desire to prove someone else wrong. The French didn't cut and run from Dien Bien Phu, either, neither did Custer at the Greasy Grass. And what did it get them besides humiliating defeat and a pointless death?

We're fighting a war and when you're beaten you cut your losses and learn from your mistakes. And you don't make them a second time, and you certainly don't continue making them over and over again to prove your point. You're confusing being right with victory, and that's a recipe for disaster.

Maybe the liberals are dead wrong, maybe they're leading us to defeat, Fine, fight that, but that battle is not going to be won in Iraq, we squandered that victory before we even started because of bad judgement, pure and simple. Let's not make any victory impossible by insisting on this one.
