So we lose.

And guess what. We would have lost if Gore were president now, and the coffins were coming home now from Afghanistan, with Islamists pouring in from Pakistan and Iran five years after Gore's parade down Pennsylvania Avenue with the bloody head of Osama on a pike.

Our enemies shatter every rule of warfare, and our side is pilloried for every slight violation by its own citizens. I seem to be the only one who notices that they are the same ones who have pilloried our own side in every conflict for the past forty years.

Not one person here seems to give a rat's ass about what Osama wrote about al Qaeda's motivations, and his views of America's ability to fight.

It seems the United States can no longer fight a real war against a ruthless enemy, and the rest is just a matter of time.
