re: You think.

You may not believe the critical battlefield is Iraq, but our enemies do, and have said so many times. I can find the quotes eventually if you insist on it. They have also said many times that our retreats in the face of difficulty have encouraged them. I can find those too if you insist. If we give up there, we are going to seriously regret it later.

I asked you for a list of countries, and I meant it. Somalia? Some other African nation? Syria? Saudi Arabia? Tell me which one is the RIGHT battlefield. Because if we quit in Iraq, it's going to hit the fan somewhere else. Pakistan is hanging by a thread, and was long before Bush was elected. I still have hopes that Iran's government can change on its own. Egypt and Turkey are holding down their Islamists by main force. The rulers of Saudi Arabia aren't in quite as bad a situation as the ruler of Pakistan, but the clock is ticking.

Do we meet them there, or do we just wait until the fight comes back to our country again? Or until there are enough Islamist nations that fighting becomes pointless?

You seem to have a good grasp of the situation, but what tactics do you have in mind?

Too many people believe that if we quit, the war just goes away. If only it were that easy.
