That sounds right.....
There was a highly publiczed case around here recently involving a well know person caught with a stolen gun in his car. He claimed to have bought the gun from a relative.
He was exhonerated after he proved that he had taken the gun to the police after purchase and they had cleared the gun. Who he purchased the gun from was never an issue.
Perhaps the crime is in selling a gun without a license and not buying from an unlicensed seller. I know there are situations where the buyer is protected under the law.
There was never any followup on whether the relative that sold the gun was arrested.
