I am a rare thing here- a native Houstonian. Most everyone I meet around here is from somewhere else. I want to move to San Antonio, but my roots are too deep here at the moment.
I can’t imagine ever living out of Texas. This is my home. If I had to move out of state, Hot Springs in Arkansas would be my first choice. Arkansas is my second home state. My folks are from there, my wife’s folks are from there, and we have been going there our whole lives.
I could handle living in Atlanta. I have family there. Except the East Coast is way too crowded for my taste.
Durango Colorado is one of my favorite places. I first visited there in 1974 when it was still a little town. I just don’t know if I could handle their winters. I know nothing about snow.
If I could handle cold winters and I didn’t have all my family down here, I would love to live in Alaska.
I was born I Texas and I will die here. Although, I might end up being buried in Arkansas with the rest of the family.
