And the funky thing about those cars is you buy one and you can't just turn the key to start it. You have to push the N button and turn the key. And there is no Park. You simply push it into N after coming to a stop and then pull the parking brake on. You learn real quick - overhaul the parking brake first - and don't park on anything steeper than a 10 degree incline.
And even more funky, and possibly the most frustrating of all - the lug nuts on each side of the car mount in a different direction!!! I was changing the tires and wheels on a Dodge Coronet removed one side with ease, and went to the other side and nearly herniated myself with effort trying to get those wheels off - naturally I was making them tighter and tighter! The left side of the car - right is untight! The poor owner(s) before me had never figured it out and I swear the original 14" 1957 tires were still on that side of the car - one could push one's finger through the rubber it was so rotten!
The distorted wrap-around glass leads to concerns as well - and that thick glass is not safety glass. Those cars are crowd-pleasers, fun to restore but are not as fun or worry-free to drive as a post-1965 car.
Christine...indeed.
