I just had a vision of a farmer in overalls carrying around a full-grown cow. ROFLMAO!
But you're right--farmers ate a lot, including saturated fats but they exercised all day long doing chores so their calories were turned immediately into energy. Lack of exercise is part of what's wrong with us today.
I've heard it mentioned by Lipid researchers that there is a virus that associates itself with heart attacks. Just as ulcers are now known to be caused by H. Pylori, so the virus causes inflammation which leads to heart attack. I wonder if the virus does something that causes plaque to stick to the arteries. I seem to remember hearing something like that but I'll have to research it to make sure. Or I'll ask my ex-boss if I run into him on my way to work tomorrow. (He's one of the experts I worked for.)
When are researchers going to create something to kill viruses?!
