A thought-provoking anti-Obama smear
I was forwarded yet another Republican attempt to smear Barack Obama. Pretty standard, by now, as the Republican strategy is beginning to gel--a bunch of photoshopped images riffing on Muslim and Arab themes. It was something in the concluding rant that got me to thinking:
People laugh now but it won't be funny if it happens. Personally I won't continue to live in the states. I plan on moving to a more stable, more democratic country. Somewhere not so "politically correct." A place where the population is not so "open minded" that theirs brains have fallen out between their feet! I never thought I would see the day that we were on the verge of nominating a openly racist, Muslim backer of terrorism for the democratic nominee for president. Better take a long look at his friends and preacher of 20 years, who performed his wedding, that he calls his "uncle", who he idolizes so much he wrote about him in his book, and who he is now pubically separating himself from because it is causing problems for his campaign. Birds of a feather flock together!!
That threat to take the football and leave got me to wondering: Where can you find a country farther to the right than America? What countries are closer to the ideal of Conservatism? Where can you find a country whose economy is less regulated than America's?
Is it even theoretically possible to satisfy a RightWinger? Or will there always be just a little farther to the right remaining before nirvana is achieved?
