...I'm looking for perspective here. For all the strident rhetoric about how America's become a "socialist" state and Commies are lurking under every bed, seems to me that in the grand scheme of things, there's no other major nation that's as conservative as America.
Just ask RightWingers, they'll tell you all about those dirty Socialists in Europe (who, somehow, manage to produce a higher quality of life for their people despite being crypto-Commies). RightWing rhetoric seems to vibrate at high frequencies between the extreme of bemoaning Socialism in America and declaring that America is the world's last best hope against Socialism. Would it be asking too much for you guys to pick one story and stick with it?
