re: You are taking a press release, and dishonestly implying that it lends creedence to your 'electric sun' nonsense...

I am not dishonestly doing anything. I've forthrightly quoted the article, including scientists own admissions that they don't understand the processes involved. I have expressed my own opinions (and that of a number of others) that the misunderstanding comes from certain basic premises (excluding discussion of electrodynamic processes, assumptions that plasma is "magnetizable" [the "frozen-in" condition of field lines in plasma] as if it's essentially a permanent magnet, the premise the magnetic field lines can be snipped and carried about in bits and pieces).

Do I think that magnetic fields are the result of electric currents? Yes.

Do I think that the strength of magnetic fields is dependent up on the strength of the underlying electric current? Generally, yes.
(Permanent magnets are a slightly different case, wherein the aligned dipoles ACT, according to the Ampèrian model, like a current flowing around the surface of a cylinder; though it's recognized that the charged particle motions are at the atomic level around individual nuclei, not in an actual "skin effect" current.)

Do I feel that where magnetic fields are seen and changes noted, that the underlying electric currents (that must be there by definition) should be discussed? Yes.

Have I provided references stating much the same? Also yes.

If you feel the above statements support the "electric star" hypothesis, that's your prerogative.

My question, when it gets down to it, is whether the above statements are more-or-less correct.

Are electric currents the source of magnetic fields? Are magnetic field strength and topology dependent upon current strength and geometry? If so, what can that tell us about magnetic structures we see in space? I simply want to know whether these things are true and whether they can help to resolve current "unknowns."

That's what I came here to discuss... Not your personal impression of my character, etc. etc.
