RE: explanation / flame war. Probably neither is necessary. ;)
Sorry I do not have the time to explain my understanding of the phenomenon at this moment. Perhaps another time.
Well, having read the various WP, hyperphysics, NASA and a few other sites, I think I've got a grasp of the very basics as they've explained it. Possibly slightly more.
"Conventional current" follows the direction of positive charges in a circuit by convention. "Electron current" or "electron flow" follows the direction of negative charges in a circuit (generally considered to be the opposite of the direction of "conventional current"). "Bidirectional flow" is a current with positive charges flowing one way and negative charges flowing the other in the same circuit (since the opposite charges will be accelerated in opposite direction in the same electric field / potential; yes?).
If I'm missing anything or there are significant nuances that I've missed, I might be interested in hearing about them. But, if you feel that's a decent enough understanding of the basics, then no need to re-explain any of that. But, if I've mis-stated anything, feel free to correct me. The simpler the explanation the better, of course. ;o)
Also, I do not have time for a flame war with RL.
Agreed. I don't think anyone does.
I've seen nothing substantive from ARRELL, thus far. So, I've decided to more-or-less ignore that user. C'est la vie. (S)he had a chance and squandered it with meaningless personal attacks and other nonsense. I don't have the time or inclination to deal with that. I get the feeling nobody else does either.
