Morality & Money

I think everyone gets into financial trouble at some point. The system is stacked in favor of the banks. High interest credit cards are the devil's own debtmakers - ;-)

In the old days the loans came from banks for business plans & capital improvements which by design, made the recipient use the majority of the money loaned to generate more wealth - ideally enough to pay the loan, with interest and some to spare.

With credit cards the banks have devilishly shifted the loan to be spent in a manner which almost wholly excludes investment and wealth generation. The recipient has to earn more via labor to pay off loan shark interest rates that forever keep one paying off the interest and never making headway against the principle amounts.

That's why I wish the bailout hadn't passed. The banks have been, for lack of better terms - both evil and irresponsible, carefully crafting a formula of "permanent debt" for millions of Americans. This should have been their day of reckoning - and the lot of them would join the masses they have impoverished. Instead they have government minted, "stay rich & out of jail free cards."

Banks are supposed to generate wealth - not just accumulate money. The difference is staggering, even though the uninitiated cannot generally distinguish accumulating wealth and generating it.

Credit cards "accumulate wealth" for banks - but DO NOT generate wealth for the people of the nation!

A good bank & its lending philosophy - a banker with real morals understands this. A bad bank, like a greedy business model (i.e Walmart) just tries to quickly accumulate wealth and leaves the community poorer.

That, in a nutshell, Jody, is the problem with the American economy today. If you understand that, you understand more than 97% of the masses of Americans who are caught in a system which has turned simply exploitive in lieu of productive.

Keep of good cheer and POSITIVE in the face of all your trials and tribulations. You will be rewarded by your kind heart and efforts for others.

Nature - always works to compensate constructive or positive behavior/thoughts/deeds - even if man/society does not.

Some of the happiest people I know do NOT live with great wealth. Some live 7 to a room - in a motel - and appear content with their heads less screwed up than the millionaire who now has (with the help of the banks) mortgaged his expensive house to the point he risks losing it, his cars, etc.

Living in a trailer & eating carrots - but being a good person - is a hell of a greater accomplishment than being rich, self-absorbed and never feeling like one has enough.

Take care Jody.
