Any thoughts on the Battlestar Galactica finale?

I have mixed feelings about it. I had a hunch that they would land on the Earth in the past, but had no idea it would be that far back. 150,000 years ago is a long time. The nearly 40,000 survivors would greatly outnumber the entire hominid population living on Earth at that time.

Even if they did give up all of their technology, their knowledge base would easily build a civilization on par with Renaissance Europe in a matter of years. I think they should've had them land somewhere around 7,000-8,000 years ago. Their arrival would coincide with the introduction of agriculture, metal working, and large structure construction.

BTW, who would be willing to give up advanced technology to start over with nothing?
