2011: "Hey, what's this on this astronomical photo?" Somebody finds a new cluster of asteroids, and makes some interesting discoveries. I could write a series around modern humanity having interstellar spaceflight suddenly dropped into their laps with the keys still in the ignition. Couldn't you?
