The first comment on that news column says most of it. It has been decided in Washington that the government, spending well over three trillion a year, is nowhere close to big enough.

That 400 bucks a year isn't kidding anyone, and it's going to vanish in a year or two while taxes on energy and pretty much everything else go up. At your salary level, how much inflation in the course of a year would eat up 400 dollars?
