You originally opened this on another thread with the premise that the GOP was "lying" about the New Deal, when in fact there is debate about whether Roosevelt's policies (which covered a LOT more than simple spending programs) made things worse or not. This is just one article. There are entire books on the subject.
And yes, there is honest debate about whether a massive increase in our borrowing and debt, particularly in light of oncoming entitlement issues, is really a recipe for economic health.
If you want "honest debate," don't start out with the angry axiom that the subject is non-debatable.
