The voice of one man Tom.
And the backlash over here has been enormous.
I work with NHS staff, in NHS facilities, every day - as part of my job.
Please don't comment on things you couldn't possibly comprehend....like a social healthcare system that spends less per capita than the US already spends on medicaid.....
...which - and this may terrify you, or possibly just not computer.....
it works.
The NHS actually works.
Sorry.
"I've been screwed by private companies, and I just ditched them and went to someone else. You can't do that with the government."
Again - I'm repeating myself - if you want to go with someone else - YOU CAN. People can and do have private health insurance here in the UK. That same private industry you claim would be destroyed by state healthcare. So - your claim is flawed anyway.
Furthermore, lets take my mother, shall we. She has required major abdominal surgery, on and off, for 25 years. 27,000 doses of insulin, thousands of doses of creon and other drugs and about a dozen massive operations. She's been hospitalised, cumulatively, for well over a year in that period. Lets say she didn't like her health insurance company were offering after the first 5 years.
Who - exactly - is going to offer insurance to someone like her? NO ONE. That's who.
"Sorry Madam, pre-existing conditions are not covered".
They wouldn't touch her with a barge pole.
Don't like your mobile phone provider? Get another one.
Don't like your health insurance? Tough shit.
Your system is broken Tom
The NHS works.
