Keep in mind that unlike Social Security, Medicaid taxes are paid on ALL income. No cap.
Keep in mind that Medicare is already touted as hugely efficient, with low overhead.
The result? The program is going broke in a big way, and every economic long-range analysis of the Federal budget puts the Medicare debt at the top of the budget-busting list.
If the Democrats want to prove they can create a government health care system that delivers the goods for less money, tell them to start there. When they've fixed Medicare, or more likely, drastically wrecked the medical care system in order to make the numbers work, we'll have learned something.
