What sort of evil Europe are you talking about? Seriously - where are you getting this crap?
We have a great bit wheeley bin collected every Tuesady - we never fill it. We also have a recycling box for plastics and paper.
If we have a huge ammount of green waste - such as hedge trimming - the council will collect it, no charge.
If we have an old washing machine / sofa / matress / fridge etc - the council will collect it, no charge.
If you want a great composting bin for discared fruit and veg - the council will give you one, no charge ( we've got one - it's great)
If you have more trash than your bin can handle - then you can take it to a local recycling centre and throw it in there - no charge.
This is what we pay local taxes for.
