The "certain set of ideas" is collectivism and totalitarianism in general (which, for the record, includes Nazis). I don't worry much nowadays about Tartars or Aztecs, and the Nazis are gone, too. There are still plenty of collectivists of other stripes.
You pointed out that political, social, and other concepts don't analyze out the same way things like physics do, and I tend to agree for the most part. I simply said that simple empirical observation of political philosophies and their historical consequences probably makes it unnecessary to have to analyze them any further anyway. In short, "By their fruits ye shall know them."
Why this should make you hysterical is beyond me.
Just as an aside, tomorrow where I live it will be a crime to light a fire in my fireplace on Thanksgiving evening. Inspectors will patrol the streets, looking for violations from people's chimneys. For the public good, of course. I am fascinated that there seems to be an infinite tolerance for this sort of thing now.
