Prescription drug advertising

Such advertising directly to consumers has only been legal in the U.S. since about 1997. Apparently, such advertising is only legal here and in New Zealand!

More information here.

Needless to say, advertising to medical professionals has been a big industry much longer than that. I'm married to a pharmacist.
