Regarding you request "I'm curious if any NASA employees will respond to this on CCNet."

For what it is worth (I am a planetary scientist at ARC) Mr. Grondine is known simply as an uninformed pest whose emails and postings are so idiotic that they serve an unintended purpose: comic relief. His name heads a list of nutcases maintained over at NASA Public Affairs (many of these nutcases claim to be journalists of one sort or another) we all have to deal with on occassion. This distracts from the real research the taxpayers pay us to perform - something Mr. Grondine simply doesn't seem to grasp.
