If liberties aren't being eroded as fast as some would like, it's not because of the "Republican Reich", to use your term.
Bush and Ashcroft are working as hard as they can to erode liberties. The Executive Branch believes people are too free and know too much.
It is the Judicial Branch which is managing to preserve the freedoms. And if GWB had his way, and his appointees were approved, the Judicial Branch would be approving the nonsense.
Nope, the "Republican Reich" IS doing all it can to get the population under control, and are desparate about it. After all, GWB is President, but not legitimately and they are very sensitive to that.
