A fair question.

What do I want?

Well, for starters I want my government to be honest. I have not, as have many people on this board, excused ANY administration for their lies which are perpetrated only to keep themselves in power.

(Many maroons disbelieve only the other "side". Their "side" doesn't, can't, do wrong and everything the other side is wrong. This board is full of those. That's a mistake. They all lie. Not all the time, but where there interests are concerned, they all lie.) ((Heck, there are people on this board who disagree with ANYTHING I say. Those are the easiest to manipulate, if one cared to, because they are operating on pure emotion.))

In "The People of the Lie", Scott Peck defines "evil" as that process where an entity which wants others to trust them, with normally deserves that trust, or one which people need to trust, lies to the detriment of those to whom they lie, to those who trusted.

Take parents. Tells the kid "trust me". Kid wants to trust their parent, so does. Then the parent betrays the kid.

That's not "good fun", that's evil.

Enron would be different. Not necessarily evil, because no one was forced to trust. Anderson might be slightly different. They could well be evil, as people are more or less forced to trust accountants.

Similar to an administration which says "trust me", and then perverts the power of the government for private purposes. Uses the lives of innocent civilians, turns them into soldiers, and then gets them killed only to keep themselves in power, or generate money for their campaign contributors.

Johnson and Nixon were guilty of that. Evil.

As I said, using American soldiers to kill foreigners for the hidden agenda of private financial advantage is evil. It is alway preceded by the lie, or an eighth-truth.

That's for starters, and it was a fair question. What do I want? I want there to be TNT if they say there is. I want Hatfill prosecuted or the investigation conducted in secret. I want to believe the President on non-political matters, on matters of State.

I think that's a reasonable expectation. Not one which will be met, but reasonable to expect.
