The AP story is basically a rehash of the CNN information.

If standard operating procedures are in place, the cops have been told not to talk to anyone, either to deny something or for anything else. You can bet lawyers are already circling. That woman is dead meat on a hook, and if she gets out of this without losing her home and everything else, she'll be lucky.

It's going to be a cold day in hell before someone else speaks up about something she's heard. Is this a good thing? Are we sure? I still remember that photo shop girl who saved a college near here.

I'll ask you the same question I've been asking Bowser. What would you do? Where would you draw the line? The authorities have been pilloried for not following leads before September 11, some of which were even fuzzier than this one. If these guys had had explosives in that car, the cops would be heroes. So now they're goats? We're going to punish them?

It's entirely possible that if these three guys had cooperated, they wouldn't have been handcuffed and locked in patrol cars. I don't know, and neither does anyone else.

I don't have any easy answers for this either, but I do know that complaining about ineffective authorities and oppressive authorities at the same time is not the answer.
