You are taking the simplistic view that those who disagree with you are doing so because they are stupid or greedy... That is not the case...

I have a good job, never expect to need a handout and fully expect that I will work to get what I want- I vote democratic... I feel the left shares my values and priorities more than the right... I find neither side acceptable just one side less offensive than the other...
I find the left offensive in some ways, but think the extremists on the right threaten freedom more directly... I find the right less tolerent, and more dogmatic. I find that more frightening than what I see on the left...
I see the right sneering at intellectuals as if that is a bad thing to be...I see the right harping on their version of "morality" and fighting equal rights for all people regardless of their religious beliefs or orientation... I value tolerance of others but hate the PC movement of the far left...

Basically, I hate the extremists on both sides, I just find the right wing extremists more dangerous to my freedom than the left...

You need to try and remember, it isnt good republicans vs. evil lefties... its just people who have thought about the facts and reached different conclusions... nothing wrong with that- the best thing about democracy is that that sort of thing is allowed here...

I expect such oversimplifications from Rush (I-am-going-deaf-no-wait-all-better-now) Limbaugh , but not from someone who really is a rocket scientist!
